Zhong Ji Mining Company activities in Solton-Sary suspended

AKIPRESS.COM - Chinese company Zhong Ji Mining Company activities in the Solton-Sary gold deposit have been suspended, the government said citing the First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boromov.
The decision was made based on the relevant conclusion of the state environmental and technical security inspectorate.
Boronov visited Naryn region on August 6 to meet with the locals, hear both sides of the conflict and find solutions of the situation. The demands of the local population to suspend the company's operation and withdraw the machinery from the deposit will be addressed based on the laws, Boronov told locals.
On August 5, hundreds of local people protested against the Chinese company working at the Solton-Sary gold deposit and demanded to suspend the operation. They demanded Chinese workers and special machinery to leave. Rock throwing occurred during the protests, machinery and cars were damaged. About 20 Chinese workers were reported injured.
