Specialists studying water sample from Alakol after video posted on social media

AKIPRESS.COM - Specialists took a sample of water spilling into the Alakol lake for conducting research, the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan reported.
A special commission consisting of specialists from the Ministry, administration of Almaty region and the law enforcement bodies has been created in this regard.
Members of the commission arrived at the site and found out that the dirty water was discharged by the Koktem grand resort LLC from its two swimming pools located on the shores of the lake.
To date, water discharge has been stopped. Laboratory examination results will establish measures against the resort, which had been releasing its water into the lake.
Social media users earlier posted a video of a dirty water spilling into the lake.
