Uzbek Women’s Committee Chief asks bloggers to stop insulting her

AKIPRESS.COM - The statement by Chairperson of the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan Elmira Basithanova has been published on the website of the national news agency of Uzbekistan, in which she said she has nothing to do with the list of 23 categories of women potentially able to commit crimes. "As the Chairperson of the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan, I am absolutely against making the list that categorizes women. I have nothing to do with the list of 23 categories of women that caused such debates on Internet," Basithanova said in her statement.
The Women's Committee Chief has asked journalists, bloggers and Internet users to stop insulting her.
The earlier statement made by Basithanova, when she called market saleswomen "spiritless and uneducated", caused a storm of criticism by social media users. Basithanova then ordered to read poems for saleswomen using loudspeakers.
