Jeenbekov: Atambayev's case should be solved within framework of Kyrgyz legislation

Bishkek, July 31, 2019. / Kabar /. "The Atambayev case should be resolved within the framework of Kyrgyz legislation," President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov told today at a meeting with residents of Panfilov region of Chui Oblast, answering their questions, his press service said.
"I know that at present Kyrgyzstanis are interested in my position on the situation around Almazbek Atambayev (former President of Kyrgyzstan). The recent events around him, including Atambayev’s summons for questioning as a witness, are natural phenomena. In a state of law it is necessary to act exclusively within the framework of the legislation. Whether a person is a former president, an official, a military man, or an ordinary employee, everyone is equal before the law, we must obey the law. Only then the country will develop. And the case of Atambayev should also be resolved within the framework of Kyrgyz legislation," the head of state emphasized.
