AKIPRESS.COM - A group of Kazakh pilgrims is preparing for departure to the Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports. 3,200 people will go to Hajj this year from Kazakhstan (200 people more than in 2018).
The pilgrims will have to arrive in Mecca until August 5 and return home until August 23. The country will celebrate Kurban Bairam (Eid al-Adha, also called the "Festival of the Sacrifice") on August 11-13.
In Islamic terminology, Hajj is a pilgrimage made to Kaaba, the "House of God", in the sacred city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The rites of Hajj are performed over five or six days, beginning on the eighth and ending on the thirteenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar.
