AKIPRESS.COM - A doctor Gani Kuttymuratov from Kazakhstan and his translator, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, are suspected of illegal removal of organs, attorney of the doctor Aldirza Kuanyshkereyev told in the interview with the Astana TV channel. "Currently, two people are in custody - doctor Kuttymuratov and a Kyrgyz woman, who was his translator for donors. Investigation authorities assume that the surgeon Kuttymuratov took some money during the operation. But I think, as a defender, during the operation he did not have a purpose to remove organs, pack them in a container and send them somewhere. All operations were performed in compliance with all requirements, including the legal ones," the defense lawyer noted.
The Interior Ministry reported that the involvement of Kuttymuratov into illegal transplantation of organs was established.
"His actions were qualified under the article "Coercion to seize or unlawful seizing of human organs and tissues in relation to or more persons and participation in transnational organized gorup or transnational criminal organization of the Criminal Code," police said.
Reports earlier appeared that a Kazakh transplantologist Gani Kuttymuratov is suspected of illegal removal of organs. The Interior Ministry believes that he is linked to transnational criminal organization. The surgeon is in custody for 3 months.
