Ashgabat hosts meeting of CIS council on healthcare cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - Ashgabat hosted the 29th meeting of the Council on Healthcare Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the "Archabil" Hotel on July 19, Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The heads and representatives of the ministries and profile agencies working in the healthcare sphere of the CIS member states, as well as the specialists of the WHO European Regional Office, structural agencies of the UN and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent participated at the meeting.
In the beginning of the event, the Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan read the Congratulatory Message of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed to the participants of the meeting.
The participants of the meeting discussed the main issues of cooperation in the sphere of health protection, including the development of relevant programmes and projects aimed at the resolution of the problems related to health protection and sustaining of the sanitary and hygienic well-being of the CIS member states' population. During the meeting, the participants got acquainted with the achievements of Turkmenistan in the area of health protection of the population and reiterated the necessity of further strengthening of collaboration with the aim of applying world practices and technologies for the improvement of the health of a human being.
On the 20th of July, an international exhibition "Health-2019" will be held in the framework of the meeting of the Council on Healthcare Cooperation of the CIS.
