Kyrgyz authorities say Chinese Zhong Ji Mining Company has several permits including for gold mining

AKIPRESS.COM - The Chinese-Kyrgyz Zhong Ji Mining Company has several licenses, including for gold mining, the press service of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The statement was made after dozens of Naryn residents rallied against the work of the gold are mill at the Solton-Sary pasture on July 17.
The protesters were claiming that pasture lands are being destroyed, sources of clean drinking water are being polluted.
Governor Kayipov said that inspection is being conducted concerning the information about the death of livestock, they are waiting for the results of the inspection. According to him, members of the commission will control this issue. Water samples will be also taken.
The Memorandum of Cooperation on the construction of a gold ore mill at the Solton-Sary pasture was signed on June 28 by the Zhong Ji Mining company.
The deal was signed on the sidelines of the 6th International Investment Forum in Naryn.
Zhong Ji Mining Company is based in China. The company operates as a subsidiary of Shaanxi Sheep Leader Investment Co. Ltd.
