Tax amnesty for individuals kicks off in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The law on tax amnesty in Kazakhstan on July 16 entered into its force, the State Revenue Committee said.
The document was signed by President on July 4, 2019.
The amnesty is applied to any Kazakhstanis until the end of 2019.
According to the Committee, 1.4 million individuals have tax debs in the amount of 20.9 billion tenge, including 14.3 billion tenge are basic debt and 6.6 billion tenge - the assessed penalty as of January 1, 2019.
Most of the debtors live in Shymkent - about 148,000, in Turkestan region - 139,000, in Jambyl region - 116,000 and Nur-Sultan - 114,000.
In terms of small and medium businesses, as of July 11, 2019, 7,009 individuals paid their debts in the amount of 1 billion tenge in Almaty. They had their assessed penalties and fines written off.
