Defense Minister of Kazakhstan severly reprimanded by President Tokayev

AKIPRESS.COM - Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlan Ermekbayev received a severe reprimand for ammunition blast in Arys from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Tengrinews.kz reports. "Now we are dealing with the consequences of consistent shortcomings and weaknesses of the defense ministry control. You are a relatively new person in the system of the Ministry of Defense. However, you are fully responsible for the current situation. I am frustrated by work of the Ministry of Defense. Therefore, I award a severe reprimand to you," Tokayev addressed the Minister.
A military warehouse in Arys exploded on June 24 killing 3 and injuring many people.
Ermekbayev was appointed to his position in August 2018. Prior to this, he served as assistant to President - Secretary of Defense Council.
