Sooronbay Jeenbekov holds meeting on border security issues

Bishkek, July 8, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov held a meeting, dedicated to border security, including addressing pressing issues of Batken Oblast, his press service reported.
Officers of the President’s Office, heads of the Security Council, law enforcement agencies and Batken Oblast participated in the meeting.
Jeenbekov stressed that Kyrgyzstan’s state border strengthening, regional integrity is one of the national interests, and the priority today is to ensure the safety, health and well-being of citizens living in the border areas.
"Maintaining and development of friendly relations with neighbors is very important for Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, it is essential to improve the social and economic situation, raise the standard of living of the population near borders, reduce internal and external migration, and build infrastructure facilities," the President said.
President Jeenbekov also recalled his working trip to Batken Oblast last week. He stressed that work will be carried out to resolve border problems in oblast.
