Aidarbekov: In recent years, constructive dialogue has been built between CA and EU

Bishkek, July 7, 2019. / Kabar /. "In recent years, a constructive dialogue has been built between our region and the EU on key areas," Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov told at the 15th European Union-Central Asia Foreign Ministers Meeting, which is taking place in Bishkek.
He noted that the European Union and the meeting of foreign ministers has become a tradition.
"We are here today to discuss the Development Strategy for Central Asia, as well as challenges of political security at the global and regional levels. We would like to note that in recent years a constructive dialogue has been built between our region and the EU on key areas of strategy. We hope that the main issues of the Strategy of the EU and Central Asia, which was adopted on June 17, will bring new cooperation and new opportunities for our region," said Aidarbekov.
The minister noted, there is hope that the strategy will positively affect the modernization of economies, building a strong private sector, promoting democracy, supporting human rights, protecting the environment and solving climate change issues. Also, he said that, the meeting will address issues of building a digital society, the development of transport arteries. In addition, participants will discuss how the new strategy will affect the development of projects in Central Asia.
The event is attended by EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyztan - Chingiz Aidarbekov, Kazakhstan - Beibut Atamkulov, Uzbekistan - Abdulaziz Kamilov, Tajikistan - Aslov Sirojiddin and Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Hajiyev Vepa.
