UNIDO hands over equipment to Issyk-Kul cooperatives

Bishkek, July 1, 2019 /Kabar/. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) handed over equipment to cooperatives of Issyk-Kul Oblast.
A ceremony of equipment transfer as part of the Development of production branches and strengthening of their relations with the tourism sector in Issyk-Kul Oblast project was held today in the territory of production base of Arashan cooperative in Issyk-Kul Oblast.
The event was attended by representatives of the donor-the Russian Federation, governor of Issyk-Kul Oblast, as well as representatives of district administrations.
Within the framework of this project, Arashan and Issyk-Kul Organic cooperatives engaged in growing and drying medicinal herbs grown in Issyk-Kul Oblast received drying chambers.
The purpose of this project is to stimulate economic growth and employment through the development of the tourism sector and related production sectors of Issyk-Kul Oblast. The Russian Federation financially supports the project.
The UNIDO's efforts in Kyrgyzstan are focused on the development of renewable energy, agribusiness and agro-processing, especially through enhancing the competitiveness of local production, as well as trade capacity building.
