Creation of specialized housing stock for orphans and disabled people planned in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 25, 2019. /Kabar/. Creation of a specialized housing stock for orphans and disabled people is planned in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Prime Minister Altynay Omurbekova told journalists before the start of the National Forum, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
A draft Government decree on the creation of a specialized housing stock has been developed. "This is a fund where funds will be accumulated from various sources, including the construction of social housing. In addition, we are initiating a norm on the mandatory availability of a quota for the provision of housing to two categories: orphans and disabled people of the first group," she said.
The official informed that the draft Law is under approval. Clear mechanisms should be defined: activity of the housing stock, what housing will be accumulated, etc. There is need to make all the necessary amendments to the laws and legal acts and further the work on the creation of the stock will be started.
