'Urgent measures to be taken on elimination of concequences of arms depot explosion'— Tokayev

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave instructions on the accident that happened today at an ammunition dump in Turkestan region, Zakon.kz reported.
"I ordered the ministries of defense, internal affairs and governor of Turkestan region to take measures on elimination of concequences of blasts in the arms dump in the city of Arys. Security of residents should be ensured. The reasons should be established," he wrote on Twitter.
A huge fire was reported at 9:20 am on June 24.
The Ministry of Defense said no victims and injuries are reported yet.
According to governor of the region Umirzak Shukeyev, a state of emergency was declared in Arys city.
"Evacuation of residents is neccessary taking into account the severity of the blasts," he said.
