AKIPRESS.COM - A pilot died, two members of the crew were hospitalized with traumas and wounds in Akmolin region of Kazakhstan today, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The plane AN-2 fell on June 20 at about 10:00 am in 10th km of Rodina village, Tselinograd district, Akmolin region.
The reason of the crash is being established.
AN-2 can carry up to 12 passengers or 1.5 t of cargo. It can land on a field and requires relatively little fuel. It can also fly at a low speed without going into a spiral descent. For these reasons, it ended up being used for farming purposes: cropdusters dusted or sprayed pesticides and fertilizers over cornfields, giving the AN-2 its popular name, Kukuruznyk.
