5th CICA Summit kicks off in Dushanbe

AKIPRESS.COM - The 5th Summit of Heads of State of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) has opened in Dushanbe. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has opened the Summit with congratulation of Kasym-Jomart Tokayev with election as the President of Kazakhstan and then gave the floor to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
CICA member states include 27 countries: Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Vietnam, Egypt, Israel, India, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, China, Mongolia, United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Russia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka. 13 countries and international organizations, including Belarus, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, USA, Ukraine, Philippines, Japan, as well as the UN, League of Arab States, International Organization for Migration, OSCE, Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Countries have an observer status.
