Mongolia ranked at 76th in End of Childhood Index

AKIPRESS.COM - Save the Children recently released its third annual ‘End of Childhood Index'. It compared the latest data for 176 countries by eight indicators - more than any other year - and assesses where the most and fewest children are missing out on childhood, montsame reports.
In the End of Childhood Index, Mongolia was ranked at 76th, scoring 877 out of 1000.
Mongolia's ratings in the following indicators; 17.2 percent in Under-5 mortality rate (deaths per 1,000 live births), 10.8 percent in Child stunting (children aged 0-59 months), 8.6 percent in out-of-school children of primary and secondary school age, 17.3 percent in children engaged in child labor (ages 5-17), 4.9 percent in adolescents currently married or in union (girls aged 15-19) and 24.2 percent in adolescent birth rate (births per 1,000 girls aged 15-19). Child homicide rate (deaths per 100,000 populated aged 0-19) for the country is 1.4.
According to the index, Singapore tops the ranking with a score of 989. Eight Western European countries and South Korea also rank in the top 10, attaining very high scores for children's health, education and protection status. Central African Republic ranks last among countries surveyed, scoring 394.
