Italian firm to produce hazelnuts, almonds and pistachios in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy Otabek Akbarov and the President of the Besana Group Pino Calcagni signed a Memorandum of Understanding to produce hazelnuts, almonds and pistachios in Uzbekistan.
The project will cover an area of over 2,000 hectares, UzDaily reports.
Pino Calcagni said Besana is providing local operators with a real "turnkey" development model, with agronomic advice, know-how, supply of plants propagated in certified Italian laboratories (therefore free from viruses) and even indications on the choice of the most adequate agricultural machineries, with the possibility then of stipulating purchase contracts for future crops.
