Vice PM Askarov congratulates war veterans in Osh region on Victory Day

AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Prime Minister Zamirbek Askarov attended the celebrations of the 74th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory in Osh, the government's press service reports. The Vice Prime Minister noted with regret the number of the war veterans and homefront workers is decreasing yearly.
"344 war veterans remain across the country, including 35 in Osh region and 7 in Osh city. All those who defended our home country will always remain in our hearts. The 9 of May is the day when we pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. I would like to wish well-being, health and honor to all those remaining with us," the Vice Prime Minister said.
The Vice Prime Minister met the war veterans living in Osh region then.
He thanked the veterans on behalf of the government and stressed their heroism and courage are examples for young generations.
Vice PM Askarov handed financial assistance and gifts to war veterans Abdiraim Sharipbaev and Kasimbai Joldoshov.
