35 people detained for unauthorized rally in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - Police arrested dozens of people from Voenno-Antonovka village who were protesting in front of the Government House in Bishkek on May 3 to demand legalization of their lands.
The protesters were detained for unauthorized rally. The footage published by human rights activist Aziza Abdirasulova shows the detention of the rally participants after police made warning and read the court's ruling that peaceful gatherings can be held only in the Gorky Square.
The protesters are seen being taken to the buses.
Bishkek police department said in a statement that an unauthorized rally took place at 12:40, and the crowd defied demands to go to Gorky Square or stop rallying.
As a result, 35 people were taken to the police, one of them was fined 3 thousand soms based on he Code of Violations.
