Meeting of SCO defense ministers in Bishkek resulted in signing four documents

Bishkek, Apr. 29, 2019. / Kabar /. India and Pakistan will take part in joint exercises of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Chief of the General Staff of Kyrgyzstan, Rayimberdi Duishenbiev on the results of the meeting of the SCO ministers of defense in Bishkek.
He stated that today the participants discussed topical issues of international and regional security.
"We have outlined the prospects for cooperation between the defense departments of the SCO member states. Also we signed four documents, including the Plan of Defense Ministries of the SCO member countries for 2020-2021, the Protocol and a joint Communiqué of the meeting," he said.
Duishenbiev particularly noted that today a protocol was signed on amending the agreement on joint military exercises.
"The implementation of this document will allow India and Pakistan to join the Agreement on holding joint military exercises and fully participate in their implementation," the head of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Republic noted.
In addition, Rayimberdi Duishenbiev added that the SCO is important in matters of international security.
Kyrgyzstan is chairing the SCO this year. The meeting of the heads of state of the Organization will be held in June in Bishkek.
