Tajikistan, Pakistan discuss security and hydropower cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on April 26 met Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on the sidelines of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing. The President of Tajikistan praised the current bilateral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan said.
The sides found it necessary to step up work of Tajikistan-Pakistan commission for trade and economic cooperation, to hold joint meetings of business councils of Tajikistan and Pakistan, meetings of joint groups for oil and gas, to address hydropower issues.
Situation in Afghanistan, cooperation in security, fight against terrorism, illicit drug trafficking, reinforcement of the Tajik-Afghan border were considered among other issues.
