AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan set up a tourist police, which will protect and help tourists, Kazakh Interior Minister Yerlan Turgumbayev said on April 19.
He said Kazakhstan introduced e-visa and e-hotel services as part of the efforts to boost tourism.
Citizens of 117 states obtain Kazakh visas online and get automatically registered with authorities when crossing the border, he said. e-Hotel allows to keep track of places of residence of foreigners and frees foreigners from visiting police for registration.
Tourist police departments were created in Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Akmola cities, as well as Almaty, Turkestan and East Kazakhstan regions.
