Kyrgyzstan increases crop area of agricultural crops

Bishkek, Apr. 15, 2019. / Kabar /. In 2018, the total area under crops in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1,214.9 thousand hectares and, compared with 2017, the increase was 8.3 thousand hectares or 0.7%, the press service of the government reported.
The area under wheat was increased by 3.9 thousand hectares or 1.6% compared to 2017, and barley - by 0.4 thousand hectares or 0.2%.
1051 economic entities installed drip irrigation systems on an area of ​​2,348.6 hectares as of Jan. 1, 2019.
2466 economic entities built various types of greenhouses, which are currently operating successfully.
Compared with 2017, the area of greenhouses increased by 17.8 hectares, reaching 173.7 hectares.
In 2018, 634 hectares of irrigated land were developed, and water availability was increased to 1,901 hectares of land.
